The Dome of Light is located in the dome hall on the first basement floor of Formosa Boulevard MRT Station. It was hand-painted by the internationally renowned artist Maestro Narcissus Quagliata. The work emphasizes the spirit of ‘love and tolerance’, vividly depicting the cycle of human life from birth, growth, glory, to destruction and then reincarnation in a single picture. The ‘Dome of Light’ took nearly four years to complete. This public art piece with a diameter of up to 30 meters and a dome area of 660 square meters was commissioned and made by German artisans according to the design of Maestro Narcissus Quagliata. Formosa Boulevard MRT Station has also been honored in the ‘2012 Most Beautiful Subway Station’ selection by the American travel website BootsnAll.
