Science enables us to solve problems, promote social progress, and bring convenience to our lives. The pursuit of scientific advancement involves not only continuous research but also the dissemination of scientific knowledge, the provision of learning and exploration environments, the stimulation of public curiosity about science, and the enhancement of people’s understanding and trust in science, thereby improving the scientific literacy of the entire population and increasing international competitiveness. Since 2020, the Taiwan Science Festival has launched hundreds of scientific activities with nearly a thousand events each year, which has become an annual highlight anticipated by many, attracting over 1.8 million participants. These activities are aligned with the ‘United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals’, demonstrating the importance and contribution of science to sustainable development. They also promote scientific education through diverse and innovative, entertaining methods, stimulating the public’s interest in scientific inquiry. The 5th Taiwan Science Festival, themed ‘Trust in Science Towards Sustainability’, is co-hosted by the Ministry of Education and the National Science and Technology Council, and organized by five major science museums, in collaboration with science education bases, local governments, universities, enterprises, and research and development units across Taiwan. This event showcases Taiwan’s scientific energy and offers a rich and diverse range of experiential activities, science experiments shows, science markets, and science drama performances, allowing the public to approach, experience, enjoy, and trust science. The festival is open from November 2nd to November 10th, with specific operating conditions subject to daily openings.
