Tianshui Hall is commonly known as ‘Jiang’s House’ by people in Beipu. Family members of the Jiang family usually call it ‘old house’ (old house of Tianshui Hall). It is the residence built by Jiang Xiuluan, the pioneer who opened up the Tai’ai area of Hsinchu County. It is also the former residence of Jiang Shaozu. Because the place of origin and hall name of the Jiang family is Tianshui Prefecture (today’s Tianshui City, Gansu Province), it is named Tianshui Hall.
