The natural environment here is rich and complete, attracting dozens of species of birds to inhabit. Along the way, there are natural landscapes such as rapids, bays, deep valleys, and waterfalls. The end point is the Tonghou Ancient Trail across the mountain range, with a total length of 17 kilometers and leading to Jiaoxi, Yilan County. It is an ancient trail used by the Atayal people when they migrated in the past. It is also due to this unique natural environment that it was selected as the shooting location for the movie ‘Seediq Bale’. Open all day (entry mountain application needs to be made at the Wuyu checkpoint before going). Tips: Vehicles entering the mountain need to apply for a mountain entry permit online in advance. Forestry Bureau’s Tonghou forest road control measures: Control is implemented on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays of January, February, March, April, November, and December every year. From May 1 to October 31, it is controlled daily. Daily control limits are 100 cars and 100 motorcycles. Please apply through the Forestry Bureau’s website. The Forestry Bureau has a control station at the entrance of the Tonghou forest road. If there is no prior application and approval, and the total number of vehicles on that day has exceeded the upper limit of control, it will not be possible to enter the Tonghou forest road.
