Moluru Alley is a historic lane with a history of two hundred years, where the narrowest point is less than 70 centimeters, allowing only one person to pass at a time. If a man and a woman happen to meet face to face, no matter how they try to give way, it will be quite awkward to pass by each other, hence the nickname ‘Moluru Alley’. In fact, this alley was nameless before it was dubbed ‘Moluru Alley’. According to the local elders, the reason for the narrowness of the lane is that the local residents, in an attempt to block the strong sea breeze, minimized the distance between houses, which inadvertently led to this interesting and colloquial nickname.
