Tuniu Hakka Cultural Museum, featuring the Hakka characteristics of Dapu, was rebuilt from the old kitchen of Liu’s house in Tuniu village, covering an area of over 7,000 square meters. The Tuniu Liu’s kitchen represents the local culture and history, and symbolizes the ethnic features. Inside the ancestral hall of the Liu family, there are many ancient artifacts and exquisite wood carvings, listed as one of the historical architectural sites in Taichung County. The primary purpose of establishing the Tuniu Hakka Cultural Museum is to promote the inheritance of Hakka living culture. The museum is also the daily life domain for Liu’s descendants, as well as the venue for holding sacrificial ceremonies and life rituals. In addition to the static exhibits, visitors can actively participate in authentic Hakka life ceremonies, experiencing the vivid and lively Hakka culture. The museum is open all year round from Tuesday to Sunday, from 9:00 to 17:00.
