The Worry-Free Forest is located in Lugu Township, Nantou County. It was originally a cypress forest. After the 921 Earthquake, a small barrier lake was formed. The once towering and lush cypresses turned into dead wood due to long-term submersion in water, unexpectedly creating a fairyland-like spectacle.
Due to its high mountain location, the area is shrouded in fog all day long and is also known as the ‘Mist Forest’. Sometimes the mountain mist is ethereal, and sometimes the sun shines brightly. The towering trees and their reflections in the water complement each other, and the hazy scenery is even more beautiful and melancholic. The reputation of ‘Taiwan’s Jiuzhaigou’ has also spread far and wide.
The Worry-Free Forest is open all year round and accessible 24/7.
