The Wushanding Mud Volcano Nature Reserve is located near Jinshan Village, Yanchao Township, Kaohsiung County. The main protected object is the mud volcano landscape. It is a nature reserve established to preserve the frequently active topography and geological landscapes. Mud volcanoes are formed by the simultaneous ejection of mud and gas onto the ground and accumulate to form a conical shape. There are often mud and gas ejected from time to time. At present, the larger mud volcano in the reserve is about 3.5 meters high. It erupts every few seconds. The thick mud flows down along the conical surface to form a tongue-shaped mud flow.
