Xiang Tian Lake is located in Donghe Village, Nanzhuang Township, Miaoli County, with Guangtian Gaoshan Ridge to the southeast, neighboring Lu Chang, and Penglai Village to the southwest. It is said that hundreds of years ago, this area was originally a lake. People named it Xiang Tian Lake because they looked up at the sky while standing by the lake. To the northwest, at the foot of the mountain, are Nanjiang Village and Donghe Village. Due to its high elevation, the area is often shrouded in mist. The biennial and decennial A-mei祭 (Dwarf Spirit Festival) held at Xiang Tian Lake is an important ceremony for the Saisiyat people. It is open all year round, 24/7.
