The Xingwu Institute Martial Arts Arena is located in the West District of Taichung City. It is a martial arts hall where prison officials practice martial arts on a daily basis. It is the only remaining martial arts arena in the city. The historical original appearance is completely preserved and has great value for preservation, reuse, and architectural research. The martial arts arena complex includes the main building of the martial arts arena and the affiliated building on the east side. The main building is constructed in a symmetrical pattern. There is a shrine at the back center. Facing the shrine, on the left is the judo hall and on the right is the kendo hall. There are seats on one side of the martial arts arena. Compared with similar buildings of the same period, the Wude Hall, it belongs to a smaller martial arts facility. The architectural form is a typical martial arts arena. The pedestal is raised, the facade imitates the wood structure and pilaster decorations. The roof is constructed in an irimoya style roof with large oni tiles and bargeboards for decoration.
