The Ye Wang Jiao Zhi Tao Cultural Center is located in the Tzu Chi Palace Cultural Building. It showcases and collects more than 200 pieces of Ye Wang’s Jiao Zhi Tao works, including six pieces that are listed as national treasures. Jiao Zhi Tao is a low-temperature colored glaze soft pottery. Locally, people simply call it ‘Jiao Zhi’, ‘Jiao Zhi Waang Zai’, or ‘Jiao Zhi Zai’. In the early days, it was mostly used for temple building decoration. Ye Wang, whose original name is Ye Shi, was born in 1822. He is the first famous craftsman of Jiao Zhi Tao with documented records in Taiwan. Opening hours: Open all year round. Tuesday to Sunday, 8:30 – 12:00 and 14:00 – 17:00.
