Longtan Lake is about 5.5 kilometers away from Yilan City. It is located at the southern foot of Yaoyao Mountain in the north of Sijie and Longtan. Longtan Lake is surrounded by mountains on three sides. Along the lakeside path, there are shady trees and weeping willows reflected in the water, presenting a charming scenery. The shallow grassy slope in the valley to the east of the lake can be used as a camping ground. There are two temples nearby, one is Longtan Temple and the other is Fuyan Huguo Chan Temple.
