The Yinshan Temple in Tamsui was built in the third year of Daoguang in the Qing Dynasty (1823 AD). It enshrines the patron saint of Hakka people in Tingzhou, Fujian Province, ‘Dingguang Buddha’. In addition to enshrining Dingguang Buddha, Yinshan Temple also serves as a Tingzhou Guild Hall to receive fellow villagers. At present, only the Yinguang Temple in Tamsui and Dingguang Nunnery in Changhua in Taiwan are temples dedicated to Dingguang Buddha. Although Yinshan Temple has undergone many renovations, it has tried its best to maintain the original appearance of the temple. The exterior carvings, cut-and-paste and clay sculpture decorations also have exquisite craftsmanship. There are many ancient cultural relics in the temple, and the statue of Dingguang Buddha is especially precious.
Opening hours: Open all year round from 7:00 to 17:30.
