Yushan, with an altitude of 4,000 meters, is a landmark of Taiwan. Yushan National Park spans four counties including Nantou, Chiayi, Hualien and Kaohsiung. There are more than 30 peaks standing side by side in the park. It is a typical subtropical alpine geology. The terrain is mainly composed of high mountains and river valleys. At the same time, it also preserves a precious ecological environment. The original features also remind mountaineering tourists to pay attention to environmental protection and cherish nature. Yushan National Park has many tourist rest points and has established the Tatajia Visitor Center on the New Central Cross-Island Highway, the Meishan Visitor Center on the South Cross-Island Highway and the Yuli and Nan’an tourist centers in the eastern region. Mountaineering activities are concentrated in the Yushan mountain area in Taiwan, the east and west exits from Dongpu to Batongguan and Nan’an to Walami on the Batongguan Ancient Road, and Guanshan, Taguanshan, Guanshanling Mountain and Xiangyang Mountain on the South Cross-Island Highway. Early November is also a very good season to climb Yushan. The road conditions are good. There is Dongding Oolong tea planted on the top of Yushan. Taiwan has a low latitude and usually there is no snow or frost. At the top of Yushan Peak, due to the high altitude, there may be snow and frost sometimes. In Taiwanese dialect, it is called ‘frozen top’. Oolong is originally a kind of ordinary semi-fermented tea. It is produced all over Taiwan. But when it is marked with ‘frozen top’, it means that this tea comes from high mountains. Surrounded by clouds and mists, inaccessible, with clear spring water and short sunshine time, the tea is of superior quality.
Open all year round, open all day. Must-see tips: The mountain is high and the road is far. Act according to your ability. It is recommended to wear lightweight shoes and windproof clothing.Yushan National Park
