Zhang Xueliang’s former residence is located in Qingquan Tribe, Taoshan Village, Wufeng Township, a settlement where the indigenous Atayal people reside. Originally a Japanese military officer’s quarters, the residence was a bungalow built with black tiles and cypress wood. The following year after Zhang Xueliang left Qingquan, the house was destroyed by a typhoon. The current residence, rebuilt on the original site, has restored the interior and exterior to their original state. It is open all year round from Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
