In the Da’an mountain area of Zhushan, the turbulent Jiazou Liao Creek cuts through the hard sandstone layer, creating a majestic canyon with flowing water. Nantou County has built a ladder suspension bridge here, spanning the Taiji Canyon with a depth of 100 meters. You can overlook everything from the bridge. As far as the eye can see, there are strange rocks, cliffs, and the canyon scenery with waterfalls rushing. Therefore, it has the reputation of Taroko in the west! The suspension bridge, the first stepped cable bridge in Taiwan, is 136 meters long and has 208 steps. The drop between the two ends is as high as 20 meters. There are steps above the Ladder Ridge. After a naming activity, it was given the name ‘Ladder Suspension Bridge’, but people mostly like to call it ‘Heavenly Ladder’. It offers magnificent and spectacular scenery and creates a beautiful legend in the mountains.
