The Jinshuiying Ancient Trail, also known as the Sanjialun Ancient Trail, is generally believed to start from the Shuidiliao area in Fangliao, Pingdong, passing through Yuquan Village, Kantou Camp, and Guihua Gate, crossing the Central Mountain Range, and ending in Dawu, Taitung. The length of the ancient trail is approximately 47 kilometers.

Today, when visiting the ‘Jinshuiying Ancient Trail’, the western section of the trail can be accessed by car via the ‘Dahan Forest Road’, meeting the original trail at ‘Dalushu’ around the 23-kilometer mark. The eastern section is known as the ‘Jinshuiying National Trail’, which is about 20 kilometers long and is not accessible by vehicles. It can be completed on foot within a day. The trail has an elevation difference ranging from 200 meters to 1,450 meters, offering views of the North and South Dawu Mountains. The trail is open all year round, 24 hours a day.
