The Chongqing National Orchestra has achieved significant success in launching high-standard, large-scale ethnic orchestral concerts. Notable performances include “Ode to Peace,” “Song of Earth’s Sorrow,” “Landscape of Chongqing,” “Grand National Style,” and “Missing You, Not Seeing You in Yuzhou,” as well as the poverty alleviation-themed national drama “Farewell to Millennia.”
In particular, “BaYu Style,” “Song of Earth’s Sorrow,” “Landscape of Chongqing,” and “Missing You, Not Seeing You in Yuzhou” have each been performed four times at the prestigious National Centre for the Performing Arts. “BaYu Style” has also enjoyed international recognition, with tours in Spain, Germany, Austria, Hungary, and other countries.
The orchestra has been a part of significant cultural events, including the closing ceremony of the Sixth Chinese Poetry Festival and various annual international art festivals, with a European tour under its belt. Since 2018, they have consistently introduced concerts that celebrate all traditional Chinese festivals. This includes the “Lantern Festival Gala,” “Spring Blossoms,” “Drumbeats Like Dragons,” “Midsummer Dream,” “Harvest Season,” “Autumn Comes and Goes,” “Echoes on the Chinese Stele,” “Strolling Through Classics,” “Youth Time Ensemble,” “Chongyang Red,” “Winter Tales,” and many more.
