Located to the west of the Isetan Department Store in Huating, there is an old-style alleyway known as Yuyangli with a neat and well-maintained exterior. Number 6 was originally the residence of Dai Jitao. After Dai Jitao moved out in the spring of 1920, representatives of the Comintern like Voitinsky and members of the Shanghai Communist Group including Yang Mingzhai used this place to plan the establishment of the ‘Sino-Russian News Agency’. This was one of the important venues for the activities of Shanghai communists on the eve of the founding of the party. In August 1920, Yu Xiusong and others initiated the establishment of the Shanghai Socialist Youth League here. In September, the Shanghai Communist Group opened the ‘Foreign Language School’ here to prepare for sending young people to study in Russia. At the beginning of 1921, after the establishment of the Chinese Socialist Youth League, this place became the central organ of the league. The opening hours and specific business status are subject to the actual situation on the day.
